CHILLIN’ IN GAROSU-GIL

Location: Garosu-gil, Seoul South Korea

For full disclosure: I haven’t been to Garosu-gil.

After I’ve gotten used to too shallow K-pop debut music, I started wandering off my Korean music radar and listened to some English indie. After a while, I started missing the Korean language. I can’t remember when exactly but I searched Google for some Korean indie out of curiosity, hoping they exist. And they do! I was so thrilled to be off the K-pop scene for a change and diverted my listening attention to chill Korean indie music. I was also delighted to have found a Korean indie account in 8tracks and on Tumblr.

I’m not someone excellent at making playlists – whatever the genre or language. I can’t stick to a certain theme and I tend to just put in all my current favorite tracks and that’s the reason I haven’t published a single playlist ever. But because my love for Korean indie music is ever-growing I thought, why not share the beauty of it to the world and start with a very simple category?
